Life In The 1950's Now

Hands up, who would like to live in the 1950's?.................................... Well you can!! 1951 to be exact!

In an American town there is a huge rockabilly community, where they not only dress, but live their whole lives just as they would have in the 1950's!

They not only dress but decorate their houses complete with 1950's appliances and drive immaculately preserved Cadillacs!

Photographer Jennifer Greenberg has been photographing this unique community for over 10 years and at first thought it was all about the fashion, before quickly realising that it was hugely centralised around community. Greenberg also tells of their not being one single type of person living there. Teachers, bankers, doctors and lawyers are all present in this cultured community.

What it is also quite lovely, is that this fabulous community isn't at all strict either. You can divulge into it as much or as little as you like. Some people rock it to the full and others take a more hybrid approach mixing and matching a style that may or may not be 1950's.

I don't know about you, but I'm in complete envy about this community. From the style down to the cars and furniture (I want the T.V, floor lamp and that kitchen table would be brilliant)  it doesn't help that I'm currently going through a 1950's style lust too!
