Men's Fashion Week...

Dolce & Gabanna...

Corneliani

 Bottega Veneta

 Dsquared2

 Missoni

I'm going through a phase where I'm more intrigued by men's fashion than women's. I feel there is so much more potential waiting to be unlocked.
This year in men's fashion week I've been taken with the D&G collection. Boots worn on the outside of trousers and sumptuous brocade fabric being used for coats and suits in mostly black, white and grey it feels like a modern spin without being too out there.
Coats are also sparking my interest, over-sized hoods, bright colours (that pink Dsquared2 one Ekk!) I also like the smart take on the hoddie, perfect for office bods who want a relaxed vibe whilst still looking the part.

Jersey Dress Mash-Up.....

Umm, I'm not sure how I feel about this dress! I don't know if I love it or hate it! I'd been dying to try the pattern out since I traced it out several months ago! It's taken from the sew u home stretch book. I'd made a few alterations when I first traced it, and then a few more before I used it. so I didn't want to risk spending money on fabric for this project to turn out wonky, instead I thought I'd use up what I had left over.

Fit wise, it's pretty good. The shoulders are a bit wide but that's about it.
The back waist is on the baggy side although the fit on the front is great. My only other snag is because the stripe jersey is very light weight I thought I would sew clear elastic into the…

The Year Ahead....

The last few weeks have been chaotic work wise. I'm still not feeling like it's the start of a new year like I normally do, but I'm hoping this year will bring about some changes for the better.

First up is my job. It's repeatedly getting me down, without sounding like a moaning mini, it's one thing after another. It's a shame because part of me does like it there, the girls I work with are lovely, the work hours are flexible, but the way it's run (not enough staff, lack of stock etc) it's absolutely shocking. The latest is, the week before Christmas we were left with just two of us to run the shop for the next five weeks! Which wouldn't be a problem except the shop we work for is in a shopping center which is heavily governed by center management. It has to be open 7 days a week, late night shopping and only closed on Christmas day - failure to comply results in huge fines or the shops tenancy being terminated. We can't even shut the shop for…
