Social Media...

Hola my lovely's I'm back from my holiday, feeling refreshed and revived! Whilst I was away I also thought of some new sewing and blogging ideas,( more of this in another post) I always find I can think more clearly on holiday. I think it's because of the lack of distractions that I get when I'm at home, although I do find myself missing my sewing machine whenever I'm away. Before I get to the main topic of this post I thought I'd touch on blogtoberfest, most of you eagle eyed readers will know that I wasn't here to see it out, and some of you will also know that I didn't blog everyday either, but I'm quite pleased with myself beside that. I posted 19 times out of 31 during October, and whilst a few were scheduled most weren't. I spent most of this year telling myself that I wasn't doing blogtoberfest as it's quite intense to see it through completely and because I working this time around, but a last minute decision promoted me ot...

I watched maid in Manhattan for the first time this week!! I thought the film was alright but a bit flat. It's not something I'd watch again in a hurry. Aside from the film lacking any real luster. I loved the dress that jenifer Lopez's character wears. Isn't it a darling, so dreamy!! The drapery is fabulous. It't flows and hangs so well, it's just gorgeous. I honestly thought it was by a top designer but interestingly its by Albert Wolsky a well credited costume designer, who based on that dress should have his own label. To the illustration! I didn't intend to draw the dress as such, I was doodling pondering what sort of dress to draw when that dress poped in to my head so I used it as inspiration and did my own take on it. 10 Facts About Haute Couture

Haute couture is my favourite type of clothing (and workmanship). Seen as it's Couture fashion week I though I'd share some interesting facts that I've learned along the way. Some facts really took me by surprise when I first read about them which in turn made me admire couture even more so, even if it meant I didn't admire the design. 1. To officially be called Haute Couture and to show designs at couture week the fashion house must belong to the ' syndical chamber of Haute couture ' which is regulated by the department of industry in Paris, France 2. The syndicate is a strictly members only. Fashion houses that are considered worthy designers of 'True' couture are 'invited' to join.
